Music Mondays — Dreaming of a Love Song

I’m taking it back to one of last years best releases. It was a late release, so its still very fresh. He had one of the biggest R&B jams last year with “Shawty Is A Ten”. But here are a couple of my favorite tracks off the album.
The Dream – Falsetto. Falsetto is currently killing both the radio and video charts. This song has such a thick beat, laced with a nice catchy hook.

The Dream – Luv Songs. This is another banger off the album. I think it should have been a single. But then again, the song i s filled with single-worthy songs. This beat kind of rides the same as Timberlake’s “My Love”, and would probably kill the clubs if it had an uptempo remix.

Lupe Fiasco – Paris, Tokyo. Another dope release that came out recently was Lupe Fiasco’s second album, “The Cool”. Its not as good as I hoped it would have been, but this track is straight butter. The rhodes accompanying the nicely layered drums is incredible.

Bangers & Cash – Loose (DJ Ayres Potion Remix). Spank Rock and Benny Blanco dropped a classic EP last year where they remixed some classic booty songs. All the songs were solid as fuck, but there are always people out there who want to remix. DJ Ayres did a solid one with this one, taking “Loose” and mashing it with “Potion” by Ludacris.

Usher & Ludacris – Dat Girl Right There (L-Vis 1990 Bass On The Train Remix). Here is Usher’s latest single featuring Ludacris, remixed by L-Vis 1990. The original is so strange, and the remix is no different. Might take a while to digest, but I think this will work well in clubs sometime soon.

Lil Wayne – Brand New. Not sure where this popped off from, but I’m loving it. Lil Wayne drops a solid performance on a throwback 80s type beat. Very basic, but still very powerful.

House of Pain vs Mickey Slim – Jump Around 2007. Mickey Slim took a pop/hip-hop classic and turned it into an electro powerhouse jam. The synth work on this is amazing, with a nice clean bass line. It transitions back down to the normal speed of the song, which will make it a killer club track.

Run DMC vs Jason Nevins – It’s Like That (2007 Electro Mix). Here is a nice remix to a classic hip-hop jam. They took the basic beat, and added some heavy synths to make it electro worthy.
